A number of case studies have been developed by CSP employed coaching leads. These include:

Increasing the Netball Coach Workforce in West Yorkshire 
The case study details the partnership between the University of Leeds Sport Development Officer and West Yorkshire’s Netball Development Officer that has led to an increase in opportunities to become netball coaches in the county. Click here for more information

FA Impact Case Study – Merseyside Sports Partnership
How following the FA engagement paper the Merseyside CDM worked with Liverpool County FA – particularly around their leagues and the coaches within the leagues. click here

Discounted Facility Hire (GLL) in London for NGBs Coach Development
The process followed by Pro-Active West London that has given the opportunity for NGBs to  save money through discounted facility hire within West London. Click here

North East Course finder 
This case study details how four county sports partnerships in the North East developed a system to provide a comprehensive directory of generic and sport-specific courses available to coaches, volunteers, administrators, officials and clubs throughout the region. click here

Coach manager training with Kent Football Assoication
This case study demonstrates the process followed developing the Coach Manager workshop in Kent to meet the needs of football.  By tailoring the workshop to meet the FAs local volunteer coaching workforce a pilot is planned that could be replicated across England.click here

Alignment of funding and coach development programmes
This case study looks at plans that to streamline funding and support for coaches to the benefit of coaches, NGBs and the employers/deployers of coaches.click here

The provision of a detailed profiling and search system allows targeted marketing based on governing bodies of sport’s requirements of where a message should go, not just to the entire coaching workforce.click here

Community O:  Working with British Orienteering to establish a coaching workforce
In order to establish four British Orienteering Community O venues, the need to establish a coaching workforce was identified.  Greater Manchester in partnership with British Orienteering coordinated and delivered a fully funded training package offering some coaches attending the potential for paid coaching employment. click here

Market research: British Gymnastics and Merseyside Coaching Network
Following an identified need to find out more about the gymnastics coaches in Merseyside a coaching survey was established.  As well as finding out more about the local gymnastics coaching workforce and their needs a successful funding application was submitted – to fund the courses and CPD identified by the coaches in the survey.click here

Partnership working that offers higher education students opportunities to volunteer as leaders and coaches
A programme developed with Bournemouth University where Higher Education (HE) students had the opportunity to volunteer as leaders and coaches.  Support includes access to bursaries, quality placement and links with NGBs, employers/deployers. Click here

Collated topics for Research and Development for Coaching Degree Students
The case study details how through a joined up approach potential dissertation topics were identified and suggested for coaching degree students. click here

A partnership project that delivers a student coach placement programme
A partnership approach to deliver a student coach placement programme, incorporated into the Coaching Degree course.  The students on the programme had a development programme that included free access to Minimum Standards of Deployment workshops, a bursary for NGB qualifications, and a mentor. click here

Recruiting and supporting 12 disabled people to become coaches in their chosen sport
A project to support 12 disabled people receive support in accessing coaching qualifications and employment within sports coaching in West London. click here

Delivering an effective Recruitment Model locally
Whilst RiC is no longer this case study details how using different funding pots a model for the recruitment of new coaches, development of existing coaches and reengagement of inactive coaches has been developed. Click here

An approved suppliers list of coaching providers who are working with schools across Leeds has been established to ensure the quality of coaching  by only using providers on the approved list, as well as ensuring providers are meeting safer recruitment standards for the coaches they employ. click here

Needs Led Coach Education in Cheshire
How by using Coach Web Sport Cheshire increased the number of coach education courses delivered, increased attendances and a reduction in cancelled workshops.  Through individual coaches training needs being collated and a reduction in administration time.  click here
