Age Concern North Staffordshire

Ageing Well is a project that promotes better health for people aged 50 and over.

This is achieved by encouraging older people to keep as physically, socially and mentally active as possible. Ageing Well aims to improve the quality of life. Adding years to life and life to years. We will be doing this through gentle chair based exercise and low level walking groups.

Achievements

We have worked with SASSOT within the Community Sports Network groups in Stoke-on-Trent, Newcastle-under-Lyme and Staffordshire Moorlands. Also SASSOT have worked with Age Concern to complete the CIF funding applications for Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme.

Plans for the next 12 months

  • 2 year CIF funding from the National Lottery through Sport England to deliver projects
  • June / July appoint project worker
  • Set up gentle exercise groups
  • Set up short walking groups
