Walking Football a Success in Sydenham

Submitted on 20th November 2017

Walking Football in Sydenham was set up as part of the Active Communities in Bridgwater project which aims to offer opportunities for more people to become active in the Sydenham area. The group started with just a couple of people coming every week but overtime it has grown through word of mouth and social media and has now got 25+ participants on the register with a regular number of 10-12 coming every week.

The group have become a very close unit with many relying on it for them to get out and interact with others each week. One member has even made some proper goals for the session so they no longer have to use cones. They have finally got their first fixture arranged and will be travelling to Taunton in December to play it!
