Over 80 people attended the day to take part in some friendly competition with their friends and family, and all generations getting involved in the fun.
Families with members who are part of the Challenge Through Sport Initiative (CSI) programme travelled from all over Lancashire to take part in the event at the state-of –art facility in Burnley.
CSI is a partnership project developed by Lancashire Sport Partnership to encourage more active and healthy lives for adults in drug and alcohol recovery by getting involved in regular sport and physical activity. The CSI project is funded through Sport England’s Get Healthy Get Active Fund and the Local Initiative Fund.
The family fun day was organised and delivered by a team of volunteers from the CSI project and Fettle, a Padiham based company aimed at promoting health and wellbeing. Team Fettle staff Chris and Tammy certainly put the families through their paces, in particular on their circuit-training course!
Teams of 10 competed in rounders, obstacle courses and mini circuits, while others enjoyed taking part in soft archery, mini golf and the driving range.
Jane Moodie, CSP Project Coordinator at Lancashire Sport Partnership said: “'It was great to see so many families competing together with big smiles on their faces and we were blessed with a sunny day!
Today has been a collaboration from a number of organisations and wouldn’t of happened without the support of the volunteers so a big thank you to them for all the work they have put into it make it a success.”
The event was supported by Lancashire Sport Partnership CSI Programme, Fettle, England Golf and Highland Spring who kindly donated water for the day.
