Thursday 15 February saw the Institute of Directors’ 2016 North West Director of the Year Awards – a night to celebrate the region’s top business and public sector leaders. GreaterSport’s CEO Yvonne Harrison was awarded winner of the Public Sector/Third Sector Director of the Year award after being highly commended at last year’s event, as well as being a finalist in the Young Director of the Year.
Yvonne started at GreaterSport as a volunteer, in 2000, as part of her degree at Salford University. She moved up the ranks and was appointed CEO in July 2014. She is also a board member at Active Tameside and Manchester Rangers.
Geographically and industrially diverse - the finalists cover sectors including creative, pharmaceutical, property, transportation and social enterprise. The group represents businesses spread right across the region including Cheshire, Manchester, Cumbria, Merseyside and Lancashire.
